Privacy policy
Shopify Release Log (“this site”) is an unofficial personal site that republishes Shopify Changelog and Developer Changelog updates as AI-generated visual explainers. This policy describes how the site handles personal information and browser-side preferences.
This site is not affiliated with Shopify. This privacy policy applies only to this site and is separate from Shopify’s own privacy policy.
1. Information we may handle
This is a static site and does not offer user registration or direct form-based accounts. The following data may still be handled indirectly:
- Server access logs: Cloudflare Pages may collect data such as IP address, user agent, and referrer when a page is requested. These logs are controlled by Cloudflare and may be visible to the site operator only in aggregated form.
- Cookies / localStorage: Browser-side preferences such as theme selection (light / dark / system) are stored locally and are not sent back to the server.
2. Analytics
This site does not currently use third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics. If that changes in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.
3. Use of cookies
This site does not use tracking cookies. It uses localStorage only to preserve interface preferences such as the selected theme.
4. AI-generated content
Article explainers, summaries, and supporting commentary on this site are generated with Claude by Anthropic. Because AI output can contain mistakes or omissions, always verify anything important against the official source.
The original changelog content remains the intellectual property of Shopify. This site publishes summaries and commentary as secondary explanatory material.
5. Data sharing
This site does not provide user-related data to third parties except where required by law.
6. Policy changes
This policy may be updated without notice. Material changes will be announced on the site.
7. Contact
Questions about this policy can be raised via GitHub Issues.
